Wedding Teaser Film :: Maria + Courtland :: Wilmington NC

Something pretty amazing happened for Maria and Courtland.  This pandemic did everything it could to put a damper on their wedding..  Maria and Courtland were scheduled to get married in Asheville NC, surrounded by all of their friends and family.  However, A few weeks before their wedding, they got the news that North Carolina had decided to limit gatherings again to 25 people or less.  So, instead of postponing their wedding, the decided to move it back to their home town of Wilmington, reduce their guest list down to 25 people (mostly family,) and rent a house in town big enough for them to have a private celebration.  Her father would be the officiant of their ceremony and their reception would be a family dinner.  Then, a week before their wedding, their photographer had a close friend contract covid-19 and in an abundance of caution, she removed herself from the wedding.  Luckily, they were able to have another photographer step in and do an incredible job.  Then, as a final blow to the day, Maria and Courtland woke up to rain coming down in Wilmington that morning.  And when I say rain… I mean RAIN.  Torrential downpour, no end in sight, red all over the radar all day type of rain.

Most people would be pretty bummed about the situation and some would have just rescheduled their entire wedding.  Instead, they decided to roll with it and what came out of their day was an absolute thing of beauty.  Throughout the day, their close friends and family members that were there did everything they could to make the day extra special.  They brought rose petals to surprise them as they exited the church.  They set up a special space on the rooftop of their rental house for them to share their family dinner “reception” time.  All day, it was little things that became the big things.    It stripped the wedding day down and made it all about the most important things in their life.  Just before their ceremony, the rain subsided and we started getting a glimpse of sunlight that gave everyone a little hope for our planned photo time at Airlie Gardens.   It ended up happening and as it did, you could see the stress of the day leave them.  But more importantly, it gave us a chance to focus our time on capturing un-rushed moments with them in the gardens and the marina.  It also gave us a chance to capture the little moments with their family that sometimes get lost in the rush of a wedding.  Things that we may not normally use in a wedding film or things that would get overlooked in the day….. but today, they seemed more important.

When we created this teaser and while we are working on their full film, we wanted to give Maria and Courtland a video that would remind them that even through all of the chaos leading up to their day, something beautiful emerged.

Wedding Highlights Film :: Calli + Taylor :: “Passing the Edisto Test” :: Edisto Island, SC

As a father to four boys, I don’t think I’ll ever fully understand the father/daughter dynamic.  I’ve seen it hundreds of times while filming weddings, and t’s one of those beautiful things that I never get tired of seeing.  Some dads are nervous and quiet, some cry, some don’t show any emotion at all… But it’s something that we always try to capture since it’s such an important part of the day.  Calli’s dad did it right.  During his speech, he held it together most of the time… Until it came time to talk to Calli.  The minute we heard his speech at the reception, we knew we wanted to build their wedding film around his words.  Not only did he give an amazing tribute to his daughter, but he welcomed Taylor into the family with open arms and made sure Taylor knew how much he appreciated the love he has shown for his daughter since the time they met.

It was the perfect way to cap off an already amazing wedding day.  From the prep and beautiful scenery at Cassina Point Plantation to the wedding ceremony at Edisto Island Presbyterian Church, it was an absolutely perfect day for Calli and Taylor…. although a little hot for October!  Edisto Island has a huge history with Calli’s family, which you’ll soon see in the video, so it means even more that they were able to share the experience with all of their friends and family on their wedding day in one of their favorite places that holds such an important place in their family history.

Calli and Taylor, thank you so much for letting us be a part of telling your story.  We had so much fun at your wedding and we hope you enjoy re-living this beautiful day for many years to come.

Wedding Highlights Film :: Mika + Emily :: “The Best Ride Ever” :: Magnolia Plantation :: Charleston, SC

Man, we loved this wedding.  It literally had it all.  From the beautiful church location to the epic reception at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting. As if that wasn’t enough, Mika and Emily were surrounded by their friends and family at the reception, and there, they were treated to some very emotional speeches given by those that know and love them the most.

As we were sitting there filming all of the speeches, we looked around the room multiple times and noticed there were very few dry eyes in the room.  It’s such a great testament to their relationship and the love they have for each other when you hear so many people getting up and telling story after story about them and their relationship. It was really amazing and I’m so glad we were there to capture them so we could feature some of those speeches in their highlights film.

Emily and Mika were such a special couple and we had so much fun hanging out with them and their friends and family all day. From the time we arrived to film their prep until the time we left, we didn’t stop smiling… and as you can see in the highlights film, we weren’t the only ones!

Emily and Mika, thank you again for inviting us to capture your day.  We had such a great time and hope you enjoy reliving the day through your highlights film.

Wedding Teaser Film :: Megan + Colton :: Charleston, SC

We spent this pas Friday in Charleston at the beautiful Boone Hall Plantation with some pretty incredible people.  This is a teaser film we created for their wedding.  Be sure to check back soon for their full highlights film.

Wedding Highlights Film :: MaryAnn + Christian :: “Everything You Have Ever Dreamed Of” :: Bushnell, FL

We had so much fun at this wedding.  In fact, everyone had a great time here and I think it shows.  MaryAnn and Christian invited us down to Florida to film their wedding and we couldn’t have been more excited about making the trip.  Their venue was in a field beside a beautiful shiplap barn sitting on 10 acres in Bushnell, FL called The Orange Blossom Barn.  Surrounded by open fields and old trees, it was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony.

Their wedding planner, Chelsea, was able to bring together a great vision for their wedding.  MaryAnn and Christian created a relaxed environment all day for their friends and family, including corn hole, a fire pit, and giant games of Jenga.  It fit perfectly with the feel of their day and was so much fun for everyone.

Their ceremony was absolutely beautiful.  The barn door reveal for MaryAnn’s entrance was perfect and you could see the emotion on Christian’s face when he watched her coming down the aisle.  Even though they did a first look, you could still feel the emotion in that moment and it only continued throughout the ceremony.

As great as all of that was, the highlight of the day for me was when we joined their photographer, Katie, and headed across the farm to an open field at sunset.  Being in Florida, you always picture beautiful sunsets, but nothing could have prepared us for the one that waited for us.  We were able to capture some insanely beautiful footage of them together in that field before the sun set and they joined their friends and family back at the reception.

MaryAnn and Christian, Thank you so much for inviting us to be a part of your wedding.  It is not a trip we will soon forget and I am so happy we were able to be a part of your day.

Wedding Film :: Amy + Jordan :: “I Did, I Do, and I Always Will” :: The Belvedere :: Baltimore, MD

The beautiful thing about Amy and Jordan’s wedding was that it was no only an amazing end to 2016, but it was also an amazing start to 2017.  They did something incredibly unique and decided to get married on New Years Eve and have their reception end after midnight so they could ring in the New Year as husband and wife with all of their friends and family… Yup… It was as great as it sounds.

We first met Amy in 2011 when we went to Rehoboth Beach, DE to film her sister’s wedding.  It was one of our most memorable weddings ever and needless to say, when Amy contacted us to come to Baltimore to film her wedding, we couldn’t wait to be there.

It was such a fantastic weekend. We love visiting Baltimore and the Belvedere was am amazing venue.  Their ceremony and reception took place on the top floor of the Belvedere and having all of their friends and family stay until midnight to bring in the New Year with them was an extra special way to start off their marriage.

We are so happy to share their film and hope that you enjoy it as much as we did.

Wedding Highlights Film :: Ann + Vanna :: “It’s Not Hard to Fall in Love” :: Rock Hill, SC

We had a great time with this couple from start to finish.  When we arrived in Rock Hill, we started the day over at Ann’s house where we met her friends and family to begin their prep.  We had so much fun with Ann while everyone was getting ready that we knew we would be in for a fun day.

Their ceremony at St. Anne Catholic Church in Rock Hill was perfect.  They were surrounded by their friends and family as they said their vows to each other and you couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day or setting.

Then came one of the biggest parties we’ve been to this year.  Ann and Vanna had a reception to remember.  Their dances were amazing, the speeches were a great testament to Ann and Vanna’s relationship, the food was incredible, and the party was definitely memorable.

We had a great time working with Heidi Crowder Wedding Design and Love Shutter Photography on such a perfect wedding.  Ann and Vanna, thank you again for inviting us to Rock Hill to capture your day.  We are so honored to have been able to tell your story.

Wedding Highlights Film :: Chelsea + Tyler :: “How It’s Done” :: Kiawah Island, SC

We absolutely loved Chelsea and Tyler’s wedding.  From start to finish, their wedding was a breathtaking display of their love and relationship and we were so fortunate to be on hand to capture it all.

When we arrived at Kiawah Island, we were greeted with a nearly perfect day at the Sanctuary. We joined Tyler and Chelsea to capture some footage of them getting ready with their friends and family and also captured some beautiful footage around the Sanctuary.

Their ceremony took place in the courtyard at the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island and it was the perfect backdrop with the ocean behind them.  They said their vows in front of their friends and family before we headed for some epic sunset pictures on the surrounding golf courses and beach.  It was absolutely breathtaking and gave us the chance to capture the two of them in some amazing settings.

After that, we all headed back to the Sanctuary for the reception and it was nothing short of amazing.  From the speeches given to the fantastic DJ, the night was full of emotion and fun and we are so glad we were able to capture everything to tell their wonderful story.

Wedding Highlights Film :: Drew + Danielle :: “The Best Catch” :: Kiawah Island, SC

Drew and Danielle love to live like to the fullest and make every day an adventure.  Never has that been more evident than during their wedding weekend.

They decided to spend their wedding weekend with their closest friends and family members in a beautiful ceremony down at Mingo Point on Kiawah Island.  It was an amazing day that allowed us to capture footage of them getting ready with their friends and family as well as some incredible shots on the beach for the first look and sunset pictures following the ceremony at Mingo Point.  The ceremony took place overlooking the sunset and water at Mingo Point.   There couldn’t have been a more perfect setting for these two to seal their vows to each other.

Following the ceremony, they had a reception for all of their friends and family, complete with oyster roast and a DJ that kept the dancing going well into the night. We absolutely loved the speeches given by their best man and maid of honor at the reception. They were the perfect testament to Drew and Danielle’s relationship and the minute we heard them, we knew they would make a perfect backdrop for their wedding film. It was truly a great celebration of their relationship and we are so happy we had the opportunity to tell the story of their day.
